Privacy Policy for iButler

Privacy at a glance: iButler does not require an account, does not sell personal information, does not use advertising trackers, and does not collect analytics data. Information entered into the AI assistant is transmitted to Alibaba Cloud's Qwen service only so the requested AI response can be generated.

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how iButler ("iButler," "we," "our," or "the App") handles information when you use the iButler iOS application.

iButler is designed as a privacy-focused task and reminder application. The App does not require you to create an account, and we do not operate a user-profile database.

2. Information Stored on Your Device

Tasks, reminders, completion status, preferences, and other app content are stored locally on your device unless a feature clearly tells you otherwise. We do not receive or store this locally saved information on our own servers.

Removing the App may remove locally stored app data, subject to Apple's device backup and restore features.

3. AI Assistant and Alibaba Cloud

iButler uses models hosted through Alibaba Cloud Model Studio provided through Alibaba Cloud to understand natural-language requests and help create or organize tasks.

When you use an AI feature, the text you enter—and, when applicable, a transcript created from your spoken request—is transmitted to Alibaba Cloud for processing. Alibaba Cloud returns an AI-generated response to the App.

Please do not include passwords, financial information, government identification numbers, medical information, or other highly sensitive personal information in an AI request.

Alibaba Cloud processes information under its own terms and privacy practices. You can review its privacy policy at: Alibaba Cloud Privacy Policy .

4. Device Permissions

Depending on the features you choose to use, iButler may request access to certain device capabilities:

Notifications: used to deliver task and reminder alerts.
Speech recognition or microphone: used when you choose to create a task or complete an action using your voice.
Motion and fitness activity: used when you choose a step-count completion challenge.
Location: used when you choose a location-based task or completion challenge.

These permissions are optional and are requested only when relevant to a feature. You can change permission access at any time in the iOS Settings app. Except for content intentionally submitted to the Qwen AI service as described above, we do not transmit this device-permission data to our servers.

5. Data We Do Not Collect

iButler does not intentionally collect:

Names, email addresses, phone numbers, or account credentials;
Advertising identifiers or cross-app tracking information;
Payment card or banking information;
Contacts or address-book data;
Usage analytics, crash analytics, or advertising data;
Precise location history on our servers.

6. Tracking, Advertising, and Sale of Data

iButler does not display third-party advertising, does not track users across apps or websites, and does not sell or rent personal information.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

We do not maintain user accounts or a server-side database of your tasks. You can delete tasks and other locally stored content inside the App, or remove the App to delete its local data from your device, subject to any device backups controlled by Apple.

Information submitted to Alibaba Cloud is subject to Alibaba Cloud's data retention and deletion practices. Requests concerning information processed by Alibaba Cloud may also be governed by Alibaba Cloud's applicable privacy policy and service terms.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical measures designed to protect information transmitted by the App. However, no electronic transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

9. Children's Privacy

iButler is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided personal information through the App should contact us using the information below.

10. International Processing

Alibaba Cloud may process AI requests in countries or regions different from your place of residence, depending on the service region and infrastructure used. Data-protection laws in those locations may differ from those in your jurisdiction.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the App, its features, or legal requirements change. The revised policy will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
