ContactMemo

Your people. Your privacy.

Privacy Policy

ContactMemo is a personal contact book. This policy explains what stays on your device and what happens when you use optional services.

Effective Provided by JIAKANG XIE

1. Information on your device

ContactMemo stores the contacts you add or import, their details and photos, groups, text memos, memo photos, voice recordings, transcripts, selected locations, and contact-change history locally on your device.

Likes, contact-opening counts used by the Frequent filter, and display preferences also remain in local app storage. The developer does not receive this library and cannot access it through a ContactMemo account or server.

ContactMemo does not provide its own cloud synchronization service. Your operating system’s backup features may include app data according to your device and backup settings.

2. Permissions and optional features

Apple Contacts

With permission, ContactMemo reads the system contacts you allow it to access. You can save app-only contacts to Apple Contacts and sync supported edits for linked contacts. ContactMemo’s private memos, groups, likes, and contact-opening counts are not written to Apple Contacts.

Your system contact account may synchronize through iCloud or another provider according to its own settings and privacy policy.

Photos and camera

Photos you select or capture for contacts and memos are copied into the app’s local media storage. The app does not upload these photos to a developer-operated service.

Microphone and speech recognition

Voice memos store recorded audio locally. Live dictation uses Apple’s on-device speech recognition when available. ContactMemo requires on-device recognition and does not fall back to server-based transcription. Audio recording remains available with microphone permission when dictation is unavailable.

Location and maps

When you open the location picker or use its current-location control, ContactMemo can request your location. Apple Maps provides map display, place search, and address lookup; those requests are handled by Apple’s services. A location you choose to save is stored with the relevant contact or memo.

ContactMemo does not continuously track your location in the background.

You can change permissions in your device settings. Denying an optional permission limits the related feature, but you can still create contacts manually and save text memos.

3. External apps and services

Calling, messaging, emailing, navigating, or opening a social profile sends the relevant number, address, location, or link to the app or service you choose to open.

For a Rednote shared link, ContactMemo requests the link from Rednote’s web service to find the destination profile before trying to open the app. This request includes the chosen shared link and ordinary network connection information, such as an IP address. It does not send your contact library or memos.

Apple and other external providers handle their services under their own privacy policies. ContactMemo has no advertising or analytics SDKs and does not use your local library for advertising or tracking.

4. When you contact support

If you email xtuphe@live.com, we receive your email address and any message, device details, or attachments you choose to send. We use that information to respond to your request and investigate the issue.

Support correspondence is handled through our email provider and kept as needed to address the request and meet applicable obligations. Please avoid including private contact records, sensitive memos, or other people’s personal information. You can use the same email address to ask about deletion of your support correspondence.

5. Your choices and deletion

  • Edit or remove local information. You can edit contact details and delete contacts or memos inside ContactMemo. Local information remains until you remove it or the app’s data is removed.
  • Contact deletion. Deleting a contact from ContactMemo removes its personal memos and associated attachments, but does not delete its linked Apple Contacts card. Groups and group memos remain in your library.
  • Group memo deletion. A group memo is one local record. Deleting it removes it from the group and all member timelines where it appears.
  • System contacts and backups. Changes synchronized to Apple Contacts and copies retained in system backups follow those services’ settings and retention. Deleting something in ContactMemo does not remove separate copies from those services.
  • Removing the app. On iPhone and iPad, deleting the app removes its local app data; offloading the app keeps that data. On other platforms, removing the application may leave stored data behind. Manage retained app data and backups through the relevant system settings.

The developer cannot recover or remotely delete a library stored only on your device.

6. Updates to this policy
